Page visible in live mode but not edit mode

Hi,

I have somehow managed to get a page into live mode, having deleted it
from edit mode. The sequence of events was

1) Another user created a page in Edit mode, and created all the content
2) Workflow status for this page was green even though I hadn't yet
approved it, so couldn't get it live
3) Deleted the page in Edit mode
4) Created another new page with the same content and successfully
approved it
5) Noticed that now both pages are visible in Live mode, but the orginal
page not in Edit mode.

The only place that the original page is visible in Edit mode is in the
Admin screen, Site Settings > Page Settings > Select a page > Flat View.
If I try to go to the Edit mode URL of the original page, it re-directs
me back to the Home page (in Edit mode).

Any ideas??? I really just want to delete the original page so it is not
accessible in Live mode. I've managed to hard code some logic into my
templates so that it doesn't show up in any menus or the sitemap, but I
still want to get rid of it if possible...
